Hundreds of people from the Uganda corporate community braved the Sunday chilly weather conditions to take part in the second 2017 Corporate League at the Kyambogo Cricket oval.
A total of 140 football matches were played by the over 45 corporate entities as banking institutions outshone the rest on the day.
Standard Chartered Bank defeated crowd darling Parliament of Uganda 2-0.
Raymond Ojok was on target for Parliamentary team as Peter Assimwe and Edirisa Sserumu netted for Standard Chartered.
Sam Ongomu was on target in Stanbic Bank’s 1-0 victory MTN Uganda.
The Telecommunications company however lost the other game by the same margin to Spedag Interfreight with Dennis Okothongo the goal hero.

Spear Motors Limited fell 1-0 to Centenary Bank with Henry Wanyama scoring.
Wanyama returned in style with brace in their second game when they outwitted Ison Bpo 2-0.
Ndejje University staff shocked KCB Bank 1-0 courtesy of Joseph Muluya’s strike.
Another bank, Orient lost 1-0 to Letshego. Andrew Kasere scored the match winner.
Uusal top performers Roofings, Coca Cola and Cipla Quality Chemicals were some of the exceling companies of the 46 corporate instiutions that turned up on the day.
Uganda Electricity Transmission Company (UETC) held Cipla to a one all draw in one of the shocking displays.
UETC however fell 1-0 to Airtel Uganda courtesy of Yiga Senteza’s goal.
Lukas and Bamwaga were on target for UECL and Cipla Quality Chemicals respectively.
Sheraton Hotel defeated NSSF 2-0 with Joseph Goloba and Deo Kiyema on target.
KCCA, the instution overcame Total Uganda 1-0. Moses Kaddu scored the winning goal for Jennifer Musisi’s boys.
In some of the other results on the day, Sheraton Kampala Hotel were 2-0 winner against National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
Ivan Sserubiri was on target for Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in their 1-0 win against Roofings Limited.
Parliament of Uganda shared the spoils with Enterprize Financial Centre in a one all stalement.
A one Freeman scored for Entreprize Financial Centre as Raymond Ojok replied for the Parliamentarian side captained by Allan Ssewanyana.
Other sports:
Stanbic Bank won the thrilling three legged race. CAA, Total E and P as well as MTN Uganda finished in the respective following positions.

The pool men event was won by Centenary Bank after Ronald Ssemakula, who overcame Spear Motors’ Rogers Tumwsigye by straight frames (2-0).
Jessy Ntege of Coca Cola emerged third after winning his frame against a Hotel Africana player.

The women pool business remains unfinished as six teams are still in contention.
UHMG, Rolling Mills, Roofing Uganda Limited, Civicon, Hotel Africana and Pepsi are the companies still in the race for the women pool crown.
According to the publicity secretary of the 2017 Corporate league cum pool coordinator, Thomas Muruka, the remaining games in the women pool catergory will be played at the next outing.
There was no enough time to complete the women pool games.
We shall get that business done by the next outing

Richard Okot, chairman of the Corporate league disclosed to Kawowo Sports that he is impressed by the turn up of teams and fans at each passing outing.
For our well stipulated objectives of exercising and networking among others, i remain excited by the turn up and spirit upon which the games are played. We hope to garner steam in the coming outings.
The curtain raiser match between Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) and Corporate cream de la cream (select team) ended in a one all draw.

The next outing shall be held on 28th May 2017 at Nelson Mandela National Stadium.
