After a year of no action in Beach Volleyball, things looked to have changed for the better and there will be action in this version of volleyball this year.
This year’s Beach Volleyball tour started over the weekend with the pair of Ivan Ongom/Emanuel Kato defeating Dickens Otim/Mbonyuwontuma Jean Luc to win the men’s first piece action at Lido Beach, Entebbe on Sunday.
Ongom and Kato combined well to register the first victory of the calendar year as they look to win the title at the end of year.
The team had to recover after losing the first set 19-21. They followed that up with two sets of 21-17 and 19-17 to win the game and take the first weekend.
In the ladies’ category, Sharon Pajije/Eunice Amuron defeated Jackline Achieng/Shamim Makongoro to win it. The pair had defeated Peace Busingye/Margaret Namyalo in the semifinals.
