  • Group C: Uganda Premier League (UPL), National Insurance Corporation (NIC) Holdings, Civial Aviation Authority (CAA), National Water and Sewage Corporation (NWSC), Labanese Community in Uganda
  • Group D: Hema Water, Diamond Trust Bank, BIDCO Uganda Limited, Fero Mobile, Lato Milk

Preparations for the third FUFA Corporate tournament are in high gear with the draws conducted successfully on Wednesday at FUFA House in Kampala.

Twenty Corporate companies duly confirmed for the day long championship were drawn in four groups comprising of five teams per group.

Telecommunications giants Airtel Uganda Limited was one of the companies drawn in Group A alongside NTV, Gals Sports Betting, Red Pepper Publications and FUFA FM.

In the other groups, SSL Logistics, KISU, Uganda Batteries, Umeme and AAR were drawn in Group B.

Uganda Premier League, National Insurance Corporation, Civil Aviation Authority, the Labanse Community in Uganda and two time winners National Water and Sewage Corporation are in Group C.

Group D has Hema Water, Diamond Trust Bank, BIDCO, Fero Mobile and Lato Milk.

According to the FUFA Competitions director, Ali Mwebe, the group stages, quarter and semi final level will be played on 7 aside basis.

In the finals, teams shall be allowed to field eleven against eleven.

Mwebe stated;

Each team will play 4 matches as per the four groups set. A total of 40 group stage matches will be played

The top two teams per group will qualify to the quarter-finals followed by the semi-finals and finals.

From the group stages to the semi-finals, it will be based on 7 a side format with the finals 11 aside.

The tournament is intended to help corporates network as well as offer the plat form for the players to exercise as aligned to the day’s theme, ‘Football For Health’.
