Rejuvenating striker Julius Malingumu and fast improving right back cum winger Aggrey Kirya scored in each half to propel The Saints to a 2-0 victory over Sadolin Paints at Namboole on Friday evening.

Malingumu scored the opener in the 26th minute before Kirya wrapped up the business for Moses Basena’s army side.

The Painters’ hard tackling midfielder Peter Katumba was cautioned in the 74th minute for unsporting conduct.

Also booked was Kirya, the second goal scorer and Denis Ssekitoleko.

The victory was The Saints’ 7th in 27 games and lifted them to 10th place with 30 points.

Basena’s side is on the same points as Police and Bright Stars and can temporarily smile off the relegation zone with three epic must win situations ahead of them.

Sadolin Paints suffered their 11th loss of the campaign and stays second from bottom with just 26 points from 27 outings.

The league returns on Saturday with three games. KCCA hosts Kirinya-Jinja S.S at the Phillip Omondi stadium in Lugogo, Bright Stars is at home to Proline at the Champions stadium in Mwererwe.

Meanwhile, Sports Club shall be  away at Kavumba Recreational stadium to play Soana.
