The National Schools Chess Championships that started six days ago at Mount of Olives College Kakiri came to an end on Tuesday with St. Mbuga Vocational Secondary School bossing the tournament.
St. Mbuga were crowned champions in both the Secondary boys and girls categories, ousting Namilyango College who were the defending champions in the boys section.
For the girls, St. Mbuga were winning the championship for the third time in a row and they did it style, winning all their games.
Namilyango who were represented by some of the best youngsters in the country settled for the second position, while Jinja College’s team A came third, the fourth position was taken by Jico’s team B and Caltec Academy complete the top five teams in the boys’ category.
Trinity College Nabbingo, St Mbuga’s B team, Koro and Mengo SSS complete the top five teams in the girls section.
