Airtel Masaza Cup Opener:
- Buddu 0-0 Mawogola
Buddu played to a goalless draw with Mawogola in the opening match of the 2017 Airtel – Masaza Cup played at the Masaka Recreational Stadium on Saturday.
His Majesty the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II was the chief guest amidst thousands who watched the exciting game.
The tie failed to produce any goal reward after 90 minutes of action with either sides playing a cautious game that had limited goal scoring opportunities on a sunny day.
The visitors granted their hosts numerical advantage when Alex Vvubya got the second caution on 67 minutes before he was sent off for an early shower by former FIFA referee Rajab Bakasembe.
Julius ‘Maggu’ Kazibwe, Mikidadi Ssenyonga, Umar Kayemba and first half substitute Isaac Ogwang came closer to scoring for the home side.
Mawogola’s Ronald Kakooza was culprit as he was denied by Buddu goalie Hadadi Mutumba.
