Following the official opening of the 2017 Airtel – Masaza Football Tournament on Saturday, seven more games were played on Sunday.
Buvuma, who recently hired the services of FUFA Youth delegate, Farouk Kigongo, recorded a historic victory away from home when they defeated Busiro 2-1 at the Sentema playground.
Robert Sendi shot Buvuma in the lead as early as the 7th minute. Juma Katende equalized for home team in 37th minute.
Buvuma skipper Timothy Mawagi scored the winner 10 minutes into the second half. The hosts missed equalizing when they missed an 89th minute penalty.
Previously, Buvuma has been struggling to travel for away engagements over the years.
Shafik Bisaso and Felix Ssekabuzza’s Ssingo were 2-0 winners away to Busujju at Manyi playground. Steven Mukwala, a 5M acquisition from Bulemeezi scored a brace in the game.
Kooki edged Kabula 1-0 at their Lwanda home.
In the other games, Mawokota fell 2-1 to visiting Butambala in Buwama, Bugerere out muscled Kyaggwe 2-1 in Kayunga.
Like in the official opening game between Buddu and Mawogola, there were no goals when Allan Kabonge’s coached Buwekula hosted three time winners Gomba in Mubende at the Kasenyi playground.
Rivals Buluuli and Bulemeezi played to a one-all draw.
The games resume next Saturday.
