Asaf Natan believes he can still compete for top spot in the MX1 championship.

The two-times MX1 champion has continuously been edged by Maxime Van Pee even after a tight contention. The same prevailed in Sunday’s fourth round of National Motocross Championship.

“I still have the pace, but I have been busy lately and barely practiced. So I couldn’t do much today. Its the tight schedule that I have lately that put me behind.

“Good performance comes after practicing so hard. So I need to practice harder to put up a tight competition. My current performance doesn’t me mean I can no longer be on top,” said Natan.

The 43-year-old further expressed his disappointment in the developing sport.

“Motocross has greatly improved and it will grow bigger. If I recall the days of Lubiri and now, it’s a great development.”

“However, it can be much better if our leaders wipe away the little politics we have and also adjust on the way things are done.

“For instance, I got to know about today’s race yesterday. If they improve in some areas, Uganda could have the best Motocross competition in the region,” he asserted.

Natan won for Uganda the Africa Motocross title in the Veteran class last year in Kenya.
