With virtually the boys separated from men, the 2017 Copa Schools championship enters the Round of 16 stage on Wednesday with 8 mouth watering clashes in Masaka.

This follows the successful completion of group stage games on Monday and the subsequent rest day on Tuesday.

Focus and attention turns to  the knock out stages on Wednesday.

Host school Masaka S.S comes under close scrutiny when they face Buddo S.S in the mother of all battles.

Goalkeeper Tony Kyamera, strikers Mark Nsubuga, Goffin Oryiwoth, the free-dribbling Masudi Kafumbe and Hakim Kiwanuka are four stars that Buddo will dwell upon for inspiration against the host school that has blown hot and cold in the group stages.

Masaka S.S will depend on the experience of Abdulnoor Lukwata, Elly Data and trickery of winger Frank ‘Walcot’ Iga against the backline marshaled by the towering former U-17 defender Samuel Kato.

Namaleego, now at St Julian also guided Bishop Nankyama to their maiden national schools’ title back in the days at Masaka Recreational stadium.

The quarter finals will be played on Thursday followed by the semi-finals and grand finale on Sunday.
