  • Jinja Progressive vs Nakaseke International – 4 p.m

The Round of 16 stage for the Copa football championship was successfully completed on Wednesday at the Arena and Recreational playgrounds in Masaka.

Thursday has been reserved for the quarter finals.

First in the frey is host school Masaka S.S up against the cup holders Kibuli at 10 a.m.

Jinja S.S will then entertain Citizen High school from Mbarara.

Favourites and 9 time holders St Mary’s Kitende play Dynamic at 2 p.m.

The final quarter final showdown will see Jinja Progressive take on Nakaseke International.

James Mukiibi, an ardent football fan who has watched many matches at the tournament games, expects mouth watering clashes at the quarter final stage.

“It is good that we still have the host school and defending champions at this stage. What is more interesting is the fact that they are facing each other. I expect a very close game with lots of fans watching,” Mukiibi notes.

The final game shall be played on Saturday, 20th May 2017 at the Masaka Recreational stadium.
