Third place play off: Kibuli S.S 1-0 Nakaseke International
Final: St Mary’s Kitende 1 (3) – 1 (4) Jinja S.S
Kibuli edged Nakaseke International 1-0 to finish third at the 2017 Copa National schools football championships.
Julius Poloto struck in the opening 10 minutes to inspire Kibuli S.S to the victory during a Saturday morning duel played at Masaka Recreational stadium.
The dull match was also curtain raiser to the much awaited finale between St Mary’s Kitende and Jinja S.S.
Kibuli had bowed out to St Mary’s Kitende 2-1 in the semi-finals played at the Arena play ground in Kitovu.
Nakaseke International fell to Jinja S.S 3-1 in post match penalties after normal time had ended one all.
The result means Kibuli will join the two finalists to represent Uganda at the 2017 East African secondary school games that will be hosted by St Joseph College, Layibi in Gulu district.
