CAF U-17 Championship:
Group A:
- Gabon 0-1 Cameroon
- Ghana 0-0 Guinea
Guinea held Ghana to a goalless draw to ensure a slot in the semifinals of the on-going CAF U-17 championship in Gabon and a precious berth at the FIFA U-17 championship in due later this year in India.
Cameroon’s 1-0 victory against hosts Gabon in Port Gentil was not enough. Captain Stephane Zobo scored the precious goal for the young Cameroonians.
The host country and Cameroon both bowed out of the tournament after coming third and fourth respectively.
Meanwhile, the final group games come on Sunday evening. Mali takes on Angola whilst East African representatives Tanzania will play Niger in Group B duels that will be held at the same time to avoid syndicate play.
The semifinals come on Wednesday next week.
