League debutants Kirinya-Jinja SSS preserved their league status with a 2-2 draw against Proline on Saturday at Njeru Technical Center.
Isaac Ntege and George Ssenkaba scored for the hosts, and although Proline replied through Nordin Bunjo and their top scorer Nelson Ssenkatuka, a point was just enough to keep the league debutants in the league.
Having battled relegation for the entire season, Abbey Bogere’s men finally won the war as they confirmed their stay in the league on the last day of the campaign.
Kirinya-Jinja SSS together with Bul who drew 1-1 against Onduparaka will be the only Jinja sides to play in the league next season. This follows JMC and Sadolin Paints’ demotion to the FUFA Big League.
The side concludes their maiden campaign in the Uganda Premier League placed 10th with 33 points.
Ssenkatuka finishes the league fourth on the scoring chart with 11 goals, and Proline end the campaign placed eighth with 39 points.
