Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has named 40 players on the provisional squad ahead of the Nations For African Championship (CHAN) qualifier.

Missing on the team are the KCCA players currently engaged in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches.

The team training starts on Wednesday, 24th May 2017 at a venue that will be confirmed.

South Sudan will host the first leg on 14th July, 2017 with the return leg a week later in Kampala.

The aggregate winner will face either Rwanda or Tanzania for a ticket to the 2018 CHAN finals in Kenya.

Hassan Wasswa  Mawanda has also been included in the team for training purposes as the 2019 Nations Cup qualifier against Cape Verde is around the corner.

Uganda has played at three different CHAN final tournaments since 2011 only missing out in the 2009 edition. The Cranes played in Sudan (2011), South Africa (2014) and Rwanda (2016).
