David Mutebi and Justine Balemesa returned top with the men and women overall victories during the May Corporate Woodball circuit organized at the Namboole stadium fairways.
Coming from his first victory as far back as February at MUBS in Nakawa, Mutebi returned to the podium with a two strokes lead having returned 46, ahead of rival Collins Ssemanda.
He now eyes overall victory with success in the next circuit.
I need to keep focused and maintain the habit of winning. The overall title will be mine.
Mutebi, Ssemanda and Raymond Sematta were the top three men with 46, 48 and 49 strokes respectively.
Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) player Justine Balemesa topped the women category with 50 strokes.
She was two strokes better of Annet Nanyonjo and Sophie Namuddu who both returned 52 strokes apiece.
Bank of Uganda, Cipla, Centenary Bank and Ndejje Corporate, Kisubi Corporate, UNEB, Botladz Woodball Club, Buganda Land Board, Kabaka Foundation, Reigners Woodball Club, St. Mark’s College Namagoma, Stroke Woodball Club, Vision Group, Civicon, URA, and Zoe Woodball Club and Kisubi Technical are some of the institutions in contest.
The Corporate circuits are part of the competitions organized by the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) as a way of keeping corporates engaged in the ‘mallet and gate’ wooden oval ball sport.
