Matia Lule is confident his Express FC players will atone for the slim defeat suffered at KCCA and pick a result that takes them to the finals.
The Red Eagles lost 3-2 to the Kasasiro Boys in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Uganda Cup and need a goal without conceding to reach their first final since 2007.
“I think the two goals away give us hope,” said Lule. “We have a big a chance at home and I have confidence we can overturn the result,” he added.
Tom Masiko put KCCA into a first half lead before Geoffrey Sserunkuma doubled the lead three minutes after the break from the spot and it looked game done.
But the visitors pulled one back through man of the match Simon Sserunkuma but immediately, Sserunkuma restored the hosts’ two goal cushion with his second on the day before Allan Kyambadde scored again for the record Cup holders.
I liked the fighting spirit from my players. They were always behind but never gave up. I don’t think we deserved to lose but that’s football sometimes.
A draw will be enough for the Ugandan league champions KCCA reach the final for a third time in four seasons but must work their socks off.
