Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru and George Semakula have shown early intent to win Fort Portal rally after taking lead of day one.
The crews had an impressive race posting the fastest time at the Boma grounds Super Special Stage.
They posted 2 minutes, 27 seconds to go into the final day with a three seconds advantage.
Yusuf Bukenya finished in a deserving second position after a sublime performance. He was three seconds behind Mubiru.
Kuku Ranjit finished third followed by Christakis Fitidis and Hassan Alwi in fourth and fifth respectively.
Meanwhile, current NRC leaders Ronald Sebuguzi and Leon Ssenyange had a bad day in office after their hopes to extend the lead vanished on day one.
The crew suffered mechanical problems that limited their contention. The DNF leaves them on 250 points after four NRC rounds.
The battle resumes tomorrow with eight stages to be covered before the 2017 Fort Portal Rally winner is announced.
