Express FC attacking midfielder Simon Sserunkuma believes any other result but not a loss would have been deserving against KCCA.

The Red Eagles lost 3-2 to the hosts at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo in what is arguably one of their best displays in the season despite the game being 2-0 and 3-1 at some particular time.

“A loss wasn’t in our game plan from the start,” a confident Sserunkuma said after the match. “I think we were the better side for most parts of the game and deserved better,” he added.

The former Victors and SC Villa winger was in a no nonsense mood on the day scoring and assisting in the game and also whipped in a couple of dangerous crosses.

Asked why he blows hot and cold, the KCCA long term target denied saying he has been consistent ever since Matia Lule took charge although he sent the press into laughter when he said he is currently operating at just 50%.

Since he (pointing to his coach) came in, I have been consistent. But I am only playing at 50%.

Sserunkuma will be crucial in the return leg on Tuesday if Express are to overturn the deficit and progress to the June 10 final due at the Green Light stadium, Arua.
