2015 National Rally Champion Arthur Blick Jr believes his current performance has been greatly influenced by his car, a Subaru Impreza N10.
Blick has had a bad season registering two DNFs (did not finish) in four events.
He struggled through the season opening event in Mbarara to finish 17th overall.
A seventh place finish in Fort Portal last weekend offered some reprieve, but only just.
“I can not thank God enough for this finish. It has not been an easy event for us. But am glad we finished.
“I came to realize that the car cannot handle the competition. It always has an issue. You try to fix this, another thing breaks and continues like that. It has really disappointed me,” said Blick.
The Shell Helix sponsored driver acquired the Subaru last season and finished third overall in NRC standings.
“I have no plans for a new car yet. So I will have to bare with that one for a meantime until we are ready for a new car.”
He however celebrates his Fort Portal rally performance for it gave his co-driver and wife Noella Blick a better placing this season.
“I am happy for the finish in Fort Portal. I have at least given my co-driver a better finish. Ever since I started racing with her, we have not had a fair performance like this.”
