Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side, Mbarara City Football Club has agreed terms with Congolese winger Swed “Di-Maria” Satugombo.
According to the club’s official mouth piece, Mike Ddungu, Satugombo will join the club officially after securing his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
In an exclusive interview Ddungu, also a famous radio sports presenter in Mbarara noted that all is done and dusted with the negotiations and the ITC stands in the way;
We have completed the formal talks with Swed Satugombo Di Maria and now awaiting international clearance.
He is a good player who brings quality to the side.
It has been revealed that the 24-year-old dancing winger agreed personal terms with the club director for a three-year deal at an undisclosed fee.
Satugombo was born in the forested and gold rich Congolese city of Lubumbashi.
As a refugee, he descended into the country in 2007, settling in the famous Nakivale refugee camp found in Isingiro district from where Mbarara based Citizens High School spotted him during the inter-schools championships.
He was then lured to join the Western giant footballing school, where he completed his ‘A’ level studied between 2012-2014.
Of late, he has been among the fresh player undergoing pre-season light training at Kakyeeka stadium.
He thus becomes the first official recruit for the club with the possibility of signing former Burundi captain, Gael Duhayindavyi.
