- International Friendly match:
- Ethiopia Walia Stars 0-0 Uganda Cranes
Uganda Cranes and Ethiopia Walia Stars have played to a goalless draw in the International Friendly match played at Hawassa International Stadium on Saturday.
It was a game that either sides dearly wished and hoped to have in preparation for their AFCON 2019 up-coming respective fixtures.
Uganda Cranes will open their campaign away to the Cape Verde Islands as Ethiopia is home to Ghana Black Stars.
The Cranes head coach, Milutin Sredejovic named quite a fresh team with four new faces from the team that traveled for the AFCON 2017 finals in Gabon.
Danish based midfielder Robert Kakeeto earned his debut in the match that also witnessed the return of striker Emmanuel Okwi.
In the absence of team captain Dennis Onyango, who took over the retired Geoffrey Massa, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda was the team skipper.
Either sides got closer to scoring although the defences remained water tight.
Uganda Cranes will now head for their second friendly match against Senegal in Dakar on Monday before facing Cape Verde Islands next Sunday.
Onyango and the summoned KCCA players will join the team in Dakar for the next friendly.
