Kawempe Muslim Women Football Club humbled UCU Lady Cardinals 4-0 to lift the 2017 FUFA Women Elite League title at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Sunday.

Juliet Nalukenge scored a brace before Sharon Naddunga’s goal and a late strike from second half substitute Favour Nambatya crowned the red letter day for the champions.

In the third place playoff match, Uganda Martyrs’ High School Lubaga defeated Soroti-based Olila High School 3-2 in post-match penalties after normal time had ended one goal apiece.

Chairperson FUFA Women Football Committee, chairperson FUFA Referees Standing Committee and Executive Committee member Chris Kalibala was the chief guest.

He was joined by the FUFA Women Executive member Agnes Mugena, FUFA Technical Director Asuman Lubowa, Women Football Officer Hadijah Namuyanja and Efrance Najjengo (chairperson of Uganda Women Football Association) during the official medal, prizes and trophy presentation ceremony afterwards.
