Wananchi to face Weatherhead in season openeer

The Uganda Hockey Association [UHA] has released the 2017 league fixtures.

Defending champions Wananchi [M] open their campaign with a date against the 2011 league winners Weatherhead on the second week of the campaign.

Kampala Hockey Club Stallions will get the season underway against Weatherhead on Saturday, 17^th June at 2pm at the National Hockey Stadium, Lugogo.

Reigning champions in the Women’s division, Wananchi will face Kampala Hockey Club Swans at 4pm and on Sunday Weatherhead Gazelles will take on new side Rhino while Rockets will face Simba.

The second week of the campaign will see Wananchi [M] play their first game of the season, with rivals Weatherhead offering opposition on Saturday 24^th.

A total of 80 matches will be played and like last term, the season comes to its end on 10^th December.
