The Uganda Football Players’ Association (UFPA) has retained Edward Kalungi and Paul Mukatabala as their delegates at the FUFA General Assembly.

Former Express football club player Kalungi as well ex-SC Villa and Victors’ winger Mukatabala who had served for the previous 4 years were once again reinstated unopposed into power for another term in office.

The confirmation was made during the players’ body election before their delegates at FUFA House on Tuesday.

Vice chairperson of the FUFA Electoral committee Yusuf Awuye declared Mukatabala and Kalungi unopposed much to the applause of the delegates.

Kalungi expressed gratitude upon being re-elected. He vowed to further promote the interests of players;

Footballers are main reason why football exists world-wide.

Therefore, we have to further promote the interests of players, protect them at all costs.

Issues to do with players’ welfare, urgent address to injuries sustained and respect of players’ employment contracts need special attention.

Kalungi also replaces Patrick Ntege as the UFPA boss on the players’ executive committee.

Former Express towering defender Lawrence Kizito is the vice chairman to Kalungi on the committee.

Andrew Lule is head of marketing.

Patrick Ntege, Fred Tamale, Lulenti Kyeyune, Prossy Nalwadda, Samuel Kalwaya are all members.

The FUFA Elective Assembly will take place on 5th August 2017.
