A very strong schools’ select side made very light work of the Rwanda Ladies team in their first game of the Kwibuka Peace Tournament.

Led by national team player Stephanie Nampiina of Jinja SS, the schools select has very good players chosen from the recently concluded Girls Cricket Week, lady of series Immaculate Nakisuyi of Masaka SS and Rita Musamali of Jinja SS have all featured for the senior Cricket Cranes team.

Uganda won the toss and elected to field first with Patricia Malemikia and Rita Musamali reaping through the batting line up of the Rwanda ladies restricting them to only 52/6 in 20 overs.

Jane Francis Baluka of Masaka SS finished with figures of 3/10 in 3 Overs with Rita Musamali picking up 1/9 in 5 Overs.

Former Ugandan international and Jinja SS player Damalie Busingye couldn’t inspire her adopted nation as she could managed surviving 16 balls without troubling the scorers.

Despite losing 4 wickets the schools select side was never in trouble in the chase as Rita Musamali scored a brisky 14 off 13 with 3 boundaries supported by Immaculate Nakisuyi (8) and Joyce Mary Apio (5 not out)

Denis has represented Uganda in international cricket events including the World Cup. He is currently the captain of Wanderers Cricket Club.
