Prime General Supplies Squash Open:

Uganda seed one squash player Micheal Kawooya gritted his teeth to outmuscle Ian Rukunya Kajubu 3-2 in a hard fought final of the  prime General Supplies Open Squash Tournament.

The five day’s tournament climaxed on Saturday at the Kampala Club as hosted by the Uganda Squash Rackets Association.

It was a hard battled game that Kawooya won 3/2 after 1 hour and 25 minutes.

An overwhelmed Kawooya noted;

I thank God for that and my coach for the great job. Rukunya well played and wish him all the best in the upcoming future tournaments. I salute the fans especially the  Makerere University students and all the sponsors  as well as the media. God Bless you.

Other winners:

Frank Mande Aliho won the 50+ category with Martin Fowler as the runners up.

50+ plate event winner was Stephen Mworozi with Mark Wilson the second best.

The main open plate draw winner was Stephen Magero as Mark Musingezi finished as runners up.

There were trophies, certificates and cash prizes totaling to Shs1.2M given to the excelling players.

Over 50 players took part in the tournament.
