Uganda Netball She Cranes captain and Loughborough Lightening sharp shooter Peace Proscovia finished as top scorer of the Vitality Netball Super League in the United Kingdom.
Wasps were declared champions of the league after a nail biting 55-51 victory over Loughborough Lightening at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham on Sunday.
The Wasps won all the quarters leading 16-15 in the opening phase. By the half way mark, they maintained the slim point lead 27-26, and so, in the third quarter 41-40 before before stretching the lead in the final decisive quarter 55-51
For her goals throughout the season, Peace Proscovia was awarded the Gilbert Golden Shot Award of the season.
Peace took to her official face book page and lauded the team management, teammates and fans for the feat;
A big thanks to the management of Loughborough Lighting and Loughborough university at large not forgetting my beloved blessed team mates and fans for the great support throughout the season.

Head Coach of Lightening, Karen Atkinson was keen to share her pride in players’ achievements despite the loss, as quoted by the club website;
I think the start of the season was amazing, getting on the roll, one from one, then two from two, it was so hard to believe from one week to the next.
I don’t think anyone could have predicted that at the start of the season, we weren’t really spoken about, everyone was talking about Bath and Wasps and I think they really underestimated us.
We’ve had some really great highlights this season such as Wasps away; securing a sixteen goal win was phenomenal for us.
Today’s game could’ve gone either way; they probably worked the ball just a little bit better. But a four goal loss going right down to the last minute was still something to be proud of.
Getting the win tonight would have been the icing on the cake and it would’ve been nice to be recognized a little bit more for being league winners and for being so consistent, but that’s how finals netball works.
It’s a one off game and we just didn’t quite match up. I’m still so proud of the squad this year in all that we’ve achieved.
Lightning will round off their season in style on Friday night with their end of Season Awards Dinner before taking a well-earned break.
Super League netball action is far from over in 2017 however, as preparations will soon begin for the brand new Fast 5 All Stars competition which takes place at Wembley Arena in September.
