- 2017 Uganda Cup Final
- Thursday June 15, 2017
- Paidha Black Angels Vs KCCA – Green Light stadium, Arua @ 4pm

For the fourth time in history, KCCA play a Uganda Cup final after winning the league as they seek to win their first ever double in history of Ugandan football.
The reigning Premier League champions take on lower tier side Paidha Black Angels in the 2017 Uganda Cup finals at Green Light Stadium with more expectation than ever.
It’s the first time they play a side outside rivals SC Villa, Express or URA who denied them in 1983, 1985 and 2014 respectively.
Speaking to the press before the team’s departure to Arua, KCCA coach Mike Mutebi admitted his side are strong favourites to win the competition but said that they are taking their opponents seriously.
“We know about them because they are playing Uganda,” revealed Mutebi. “We know what they have done and know how they got there,” he added.
They eliminated one of the giants so they are not there by accident and we have taken notice but obviously, we are favourites, no doubt about that.
His counterpart, Hussein Kheri also sounded with confidence insisting his side are in good physical and mental state to shock the ‘favourites’.
It has been a good journey thus far. We are ready mentally and physically to make history.
Players to Watch
The hosts play as a team but in Khalid Odagui, Fred Amaku and goalkeeper Emmanuel Lubangkene, they have special players that can cause chaos against a star studded Lugogo side.
On the side of KCCA, they have a number of match winners in Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Paul Mucureezi, Tom Masiko and Muzamiru Mutyaba but all eyes will be on young striker Derrick Nsibambi who is currently the most on form player at Lugogo.
Besides, he leads the goal scoring charts in the competition with 7 and will be eager to walk away with the golden boot in style by adding to that tally.
