Uganda Cricket Association this evening named the 14 man squad with 2 reserves for the U19 World Cup Qualifiers slated for July 1st-8th.

The 4 nation tournament that’s going to be played in Nairobi has Ghana, Botswana and hosts Kenya as the other teams.

Francis Othieno is the coach of Uganda with Jackson Ogwang his assistant, Martin Ondenko is still the team manager from the previous qualifiers.

The current team has a chance of emulating the class of 2004 and 2006 who made it to the World Cup in Bangladesh and Srilanka respectively.

The absence of the tough Namibians gives the Junior Cricket Cranes a chance to make it to the final of the global showpiece with the winner going straight into the World Cup early next year in Newzealand.

The 14 man squad leaves Kampala on 26th for some warm up games in Nairobi, with the main event getting under way on July 1st.
