On Thursday June 22, the Rugby Cranes will leave Kampala for Nairobi aboard Kenya Airways.
However, only 23 players will fly to Nairobi with the other four set to hit the road for the long journey.
Scot Oluoch, Joseph Tamale, Cox Muhigwa and Santos Ssenteza will travel by road, an insider has revealed to Kawowo Sports ahead of the team’s travel.
Rugby Afrique caters for only 23 players who are in the match day squad and with the union choosing to travel with 27 players, they are supposed to cater for any extra players.
Scot Oluoch played in the first leg of the Elgon Cup and will start in Nairobi when Uganda start their quest for the Africa Gold Cup.
Muhigwa is also set to land his debut off the bench while Tamale and Ssenteza will be on standby incase of any of the hookers or props.
The Rugby Cranes lost 23-18 to the Kenya Simbas in the first leg of the Elgon Cup and travel with a 5-point deficit.
After playing Kenya, the team will fly to Dakar where they will face Senegal on July 1.
The four players who will not make the final team to face Senegal will also hit the road and return to Kampala.
