
Striker Alex Kiwomya has joined Doncaster Rovers on a three year deal from English Premier League champions, Chelsea.
This was confirmed by the club’s website as the 21 year old centre forward who enjoyed a loan spell at Crewe Alexandria since January this year.
Speaking after completing the switch, the nephew of former Arsenal and Ipswich striker Alex Kiwomya said the club tried to sign him some long time and further revealed the manager has him in his plans.
“I know the club came in for me a couple of times last season but we couldn’t get the deal done,” he told the club’s official website.
The manager sees me as an important part of his plans.
Who is Alex Kiwomya?
Born in 1996, his full name is Andrew Alexander ‘Alex’ Kiwomya. His father is Andy Kiwomya, the nephew of Chris Kiwomya.
Chris Kiwomya was born in England town of Huddersfield but is Ugandan by descent.
He made over 224 appearances for Ipswich between 1987 and 1995 and then 14 appearances for Arsenal from 1995 to 1998.
He also featured for Queen Park Rangers among others where he made 86 appearances between 1998 and 2001.
