Newcastle Falcons back row Joshua Chisanga will start for Kenya Simbas against the Rugby Cranes in Nairobi on Saturday.

The former Hanah Mixed player started on the bench in Kampala but is now set to start in Kenya’s first game of the Africa Gold Cup, also the return leg of the Elgon Cup.

The Simbas have made two changes to the side that started the 23-18 win over Uganda a fortnight ago.

Chisanga and fly half Isaac Adimo have been handed starts for Saturday’s clash at the RFUEA Ground in Nairobi.

There is also a first appearance for KCB’s Kenny Andola and a first call up for Mwamba’s Brad Owako who will be line to make his Simbas debut.

The duo, who will start off the bench make the match day 23 in place of Biko Adema who is unavailable due to work commitments and Kelvin Masai.

20-year old Steve “Security” Otieno is also set to make his Simba’s debut. Otieno replaces Martin Owila who is rested for this particular game.

Jerome Parwaater’s charges carry a 5-point advantage in the Elgon Cup and avoiding defeat will be just enough to defend the cup.

The Rugby Cranes left for Nairobi on Thursday morning ahead of the clash.
