The 2017 Pearl of Africa Rally has received more sponsorship boost with just two days to the big event.

Hima Cement have yet again extended their sponsorship in the same event, this time with 70million shillings.

The sponsorship is intended to cover the safety campaign as well as general organisation of the event.

Speaking at the launch, Charles Mugasa the company Marketing and Pricing Manager revealed that well as motorsport is exciting, it’s also directly and indirectly an influence on driver behavior on and off the road.

“Hima Cement is an organasation that is keen on road safety. With this contribution, we hope to take road safety awareness even further with the help of motorsport and the campaign will run till the end of the year,” Said Mugasa.

“We are proud to support FMU which has a long standing tradition of carrying out road safety campaign in partnership with Police and Ministry of Works,” he added.

Besides sponsoring the event, Hima Cement also sponsors the crew of Ambrose Byona and Derrick Lubambula who cruise in a Mitsubishi Evo ix.

As the Hima flag bearer, Byona cautioned the fans of safety measures as they enjoy the competition.

“Seventy percent of the routes will be very fast, and fans should keep distance. Let us avoid such situations by following instructions from safety marshals to ensure a successful event.”

“With all safety measures put into consideration, trust me we are going to have the best pearl rally event and exciting competition,” said Byona during the launch at Panamera Bar and Lounge.
