Uganda’s head of state, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has extended financial assistance worth Ugx.96M to the two national netball teams, the She Cranes and the U20 team.

The development was confirmed by the National Council Sports (NCS) on Wednesday.

Part of the money is to facilitate preparations for the U20 team due to play at the World Netball Championship in Botswana next year.

The other half will go to the senior team players who on Wednesday defeated Zimbabwe 61-45 to register their 4th victory at the 2017 Africa Netball Championship.

The donation follows the earlier Ugx5M appreciation package presented to the senior team players and officials by the State Minister for Sports, Charles Bakabulindi on Monday after the team’s 66-43 victory against Malawi.

Uganda She Cranes’ earlier three victories were against Botswana, Namibia and Malawi.

Uganda now remains with one match on Thursday against Zambia.
