Wayne Sandilands is on the verge of exiting African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The goalkeeper, who is third in the pecking order at the Brazilians, runs his contract out on June 30 and his agent revealed the club is yet to engage him with a contract renewal.
“His contract expires on Friday and we are still waiting for Sundowns to come back to us up to now, which they haven’t done,” Sandilands agent Glyn Binkin told KickOff.
The custodian, who was in goal when Pitso Mosimane’s side eliminated KCCA from the CAF Champions League was also left out of the squad to play against St. George on Saturday with his agent stating he can’t feature since his contract at the club will be expired.
He didn’t travel with the team because he will be out of contract by the time they play.
Sundowns are expected to recall Thela Ngobeni who performed well during a loan stint at Free State Stars.
The former South African international has played just eight games in the 2016/17 season after falling behind Zambian Kennedy Mweene and Ugandan goalie Denis Onyango, the first choice in the pecking order.
