The baby Cricket Cranes laid down the gaunt by defeating Botswana by 214 runs in their first game in the U19 World Cup Qualifiers in Nairobi.
Uganda won the toss and chose to bat first putting on a huge total of 330/5 in their 50 Overs.
Man of Match Eddie Ababa (73) was top scorer ably supported by Frank Akankwasa (65 not out), Kenneth Waiswa (63) and opening batsman Ronald Opio (58).
In reply Botswana could only manage 147 all out, with only Brandon Van Zyl offering some resistance.
Trevor Bukenya continued to impress with his swing bowling picking up 3/34 with Stephen Wambose (2/19) leading the support cast.
In the other game Kenya didn’t have it easy against Ghana. Kenya scored 198 all out with Ghana only managing 116 in reply giving Kenya a 72 run win.
Tomorrow Uganda plays Ghana at Jafferys while Kenya takes on Botswana at Gymkhana.
The top team after the round robin stage will automatically qualify for the world cup in New Zealand early next year.
