KCCA enhanced their chances of reaching the quarter finals of the Total 2017 CAF Confederation Cup after an emphatic victory over Morocco’s FUS Rabat on Sunday.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma put the hosts in the lead from the spot in the first half before debutant Ibrahim Saddam Juma and Isaac Muleme finished off the job in the second half.

New signing Lamine Diakite pulled one back for the visitors which may prove important in the head to head after the final group games but how did the Kasasiro players and their manager Mike Mutebi rate on the day.

Charles Lukwago 6.0: Had little to do as the visitors didn’t threaten but made one important block in the first half to keep the score line 1-0 at half time. Like his fellow goalkeepers, failed to keep a clean sheet.

Denis Okot 6.5: Defended well especially in the first half though twice caught up in possession thanks to late decision making. He had a torrid time in the last quarter of the game when FUS Rabat opted to attack.

Timothy Awany 7.0: He nearly gifted the opponents a goal when he hesitated to clear danger at the stroke of half time but besides, he was flawless.

Paul Musamali 6.0: Like his fellow centre backs, he had no much trouble as FUS Rabat didn’t offer much in attack but shares a portion of blame for the goal as he left Diakite run behind him.

Isaac Muleme 8.0: The left wing back troubled the visitors from start to finish and got a rare goal with an exquisite strike to make lead comfortable.

Julius Poloto 6.0: Won the penalty that opened the goal taps but often afraid of taking on his men even afforded much space.

Saddam Juma 8.5: What a debut from the lad! He controlled proceedings with good game reading and accurate passes; long and short and scored a brilliant goal to cap an excellent debut.

Muzamiru Mutyaba 8.0: His combination with Saddam in the middle of the pack gave KCCA control over the midfield and beat his men with ease to the delight of the fans.

Jackson Nunda 7.5: Got an injury scare early in the game but held on to offer what KCCA has missed of him in the last year or so. Brilliant on the ball with good vision.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma 7.0: Calmly slotted home from the penalty in the first half and set up Saddam for the second goal on the day. He also had nice touches on the ball.

Derrick Nsibambi 6.0: Arguably his worst outing on the continent this season as his aerial prowess was easily outdone by the tall Moroccans.

Substitutes

Allan Okello 5.0: Replaced Nunda midway the second half but made little impact.

Vincent Kayizzi 5.5: The experienced winger nearly assisted moments after coming on but Mutyaba volley over and above the bar.

Paul Mucureezi 5.0: Like his fellow substitutes, made little impact after coming on.

Coach – Mike Mutebi 9.0: The gaffer deserves credit for naming a team that he believes plays his way and indeed gave arguably the best performance of the campaign so far.
