Deliverance Church Uganda cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over lackluster Kampala Hockey Club Swans to claim their second victory of the new campaign.

The side scored two goals in each half, with Mercy Apio notching a hat-trick. Apio opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute, before Sharon Oroma scoring in the 16th minute ending the first 35 minutes of the game 2-0.

Apio then found Deliverance’s 3rd and 4th in the 58th and 65th respectively as they registered their second victory of the campaign while inflicting further damage on a woeful KHC side.

With eight scored thus far, Deliverance sit second in the scoring charts, only behind Wananchi who have netted 11. The 11 goals came against KHC.

The Swans have had to deal with embarrassing defeats thus far. They lost 11-0 to the defending champions and were also on the losing side against Weatherhead last weekend as they lost 4-1. They have managed to score just one goal in three matches.

While their men’s side is relishing their season so far, the Swans are suffering. They sit bottom of the table with no point.

Deliverance, with 6 points collected from two games go second in the league standings.
