KCCA’s Total CAF Confederation Cup 2017 adventure came to an end in a bizarre fashion after losing 4-0 to Tunisia’s Club Africain on Friday night.

The Ugandan representatives went into the game with a draw enough for them to progress from Group A but just inside eleven minutes, they went a goal down.

Saber Khalifah put the Tunisians in front as early as eleven minutes and fourteen minutes later, it was 2-0 with a strike from Manoubi Haddad.

The two goal cushion inside 25 minutes forced Mike Mutebi to make his first change of the night withdrawing midfielder Jackson Nunda for striker Derrick Nsibambi.

But that didn’t stop the hosts from making it 3-0 thanks to Zemzemi goal in the 41st minute.

After the break, Mike Mutebi made two more changes with Denis Rukundo replacing Timothy Awany and Muzamiru Mutyaba came off for Paul Mucureezi.

The changes meant that KCCA now went for a back four with Denis Okot shifting to centre back to pair with Paul Musamali as Rukundo and Isaac Muleme played right and left back respectively.

This seemed to settle the visitors who grew into the game as they searched for a goal that would see them launch an astonishing comeback but despite limiting the hosts attacks, Haddad grabbed his second and Club Africain’s fourth on the evening to finish the game 4-0 at the Stade Olympique Rades.

The loss, coupled with FUS Rabat (Morocco) late win over Rivers United in Rabat saw the Kasasiro finish third in Group A as the Moroccans jumped to second.

The 2010 winners had same points (9) as KCCA but a superior head to head advantage saw them through.

They lost to KCCA 3-1 away last Sunday having won 3-0 at home to the Kasasiro.
