Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) on Friday passed a directive to put on hold Sierra Leone Football Association Ordinary Assembly over lack of adherence to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between FIFA, the country’s Ministry of Sports and the FA Boss, Isha Johansen.

The Assembly had been planned and confirmed for Saturday, 14th July 2017 in Freetown.

FIFA’s communication is dated 7th July, signed by the Secretary General Fatma Samoura cites lack of adherence to an MOU involving her, Minister of Sports and SLFA president.

The letter reads in part;

…as a result the same problems appear to remain unresolved. As a consequence of the above the FIFA Members Association Committee resolved that a task force be created composed of representatives from FIFA, CAF, SLFA and the Ministry of Sports to look into issues in relation to integrity of matches

Since Johansen’s reign kicked off in 2013, league football in the West African country has been a myth.

Sanusi Bruski Kargbo, eyes the presidency in the coming polls alongside the incumbent.

The feat of country’s football will now wait for a FIFA and CAF mission to arrive to commence the implementation of the FIFA’s directives.
