JKL Lady Dolphins are considered one of the two challengers to UCU Lady Canons’ National Basketball League crown this season.

And Lady Dolphins who are playing in their second season in the top division are not finding any difficulty in dispatching other opponents.

On Wednesday evening, JKL eased to 70-49 win over returnees Nkumba Lady Marines thanks in part to Lean Nalunkuma, Florence Nanyonga and Jamila Nansikombi.

Nalunkuma scored game high 17 points, Nanyonga added 13 points and 10 rebounds while Nansikombi contributed 11 points to go with 7 rebounds.

However, it was Nkumba who took the first quarter 19-13 on the back of Brenda Ekone who scored 9 of her 17 points in the opening 10 minutes.

On two occasions, JKL took the lead in the second quarter but were pegged back before Nanyonga put them back up with a 3-pointer with under a minute to play and never looked back again strolling through the quarters 18-7, 14-8 and 25-15.

Ekone who is averaging 22 points a game this season did a little bit of everything in a losing effort. She matched game high 17 points and led Nkumba in rebounds (9) and assists (7). Diana Nanjala scored 10 points while Catherine Haruri had 9.
