A few hours after he was named to start for the Rugby Cranes against Tunisia, winger Justin Kimono pulled his hamstring in the team’s session on Wednesday and is now ruled out of the Saturday fixture.

Coming off a 2-year lay off after undergoing surgery on his knee, Kimono had made the cut to start at the blind wing in what was meant to be his first start since recovering.

The doctors confirmed that Kimono had felt a bit of pain on Tuesday but pushed on only to worsen the situation in the Wednesday evening session at Legends.

The injury has now affected the entire face of the back line that had been lined up for the game.

James Odong, who had been moved to full back, will now retain his number eleven shirt while Philip Wokorach will also maintain the fifteen jersey. The Kabras Sugar back had been handed the number ten duties to rest Ivan Magoumu.

Magomu will return to the starting lineup and pair up with Aaron Ofoyrwoth as the two half backs on the day.

Solomon Okia, who had not been named in the final 23 will take a place on the bench.

Kimono’s injury is said to take between 3-4 weeks and this could rule him out of the remainder of the Cranes’ international season.

Uganda is left with three games in the campaign.

After Tunisia, Namibia and Zimbabwe will also make trips to Kampala to face the 2007 champions.
