Partidar were National Cricket League champions not so long ago but are now rooted at the bottom of the Division.

Partidar has been a no show this campaign registering some of the lowest totals in Division 1 but also giving away a walkover in the game against Charity.

When the second round of the league kicks off this weekend, hey will hope to arrest this poor form against KICC at Kyambogo. KICC finished the first round with back to back wins against Charity and Challengers. Hanumant and his team will be looking to keep up with table toppers Tornado B and second placed Damani thus there will be no room for error.

In Entebbe, Tornado will face with ACC in a game either team will want to win so that they can stay in with a chance of promotion.

ACC will be confident after seeing off Premier in Budo last weekend but they will need to bat better if they are overhaul the youthful Tornado.

Tornado has had indifferent form winning some and losing some but the potential in the team is unquestionable. They will have Trevor Bukenya and Eddy Agaba back from U19 duty and both will be key in the game against ACC.

In Budo, Strikers will want to get another win against Wanderers after scoring 390+ runs against them in the first round game on the same ground.

Strikers has many players from the U19 team that represented Uganda in Nairobi. The likes of Richard Agamire, Frank Akankwasa, Roger Olipa, to add to Derrick Bakunzi and John Tumusiime who can be dangerous on any day.

Wanderers survived an ambush in Jinja defeating home team Jinja SS by 100 runs in game in which Wanderers could only raise 9 players. The availability of Gandi Godfrey and John Ilukor could make a difference for Wanderers.

Wanderers won only 2 games in the first round and if they are to gain promotion this year they will need to win all or at least 5 of their second round games.

On Saturday, Budo travels to Jinja to play against JACC. Budo struggles on its travels because its school contingent cannot play outside the school. JACC might take advantage of the same but they haven’t taken advantage of their home ground.

Budo team captain Abu Mayanja is modest in assessment of his teams chances on Saturday;

It was sad to lose a game that was there for the taking especially after coming off a huge win against our traditional rivals.

We have quickly put that set back behind us and we now look forward to round two where we hope to get back to winning ways against JACC this weekend.

We are missing our pace spear head Amos Sitenda together with his fellow school contingent as well our top bowler Taha Ahmed but we hope to utilize the resources we have to negotiate what is becoming an improved JACC team.
