The Uganda vs. Namibia match in the Africa Gold Cup was slated to kickoff at 2.30pm Ugandan time.
This is because Rugby Afrique handed the broadcast rights of the entire campaign to Kwese Free Sports and the scheduling to have two games shown every weekend dictates that they kick off at different times.
Just a few minutes to kickoff at Legends, after the two teams had run onto the pitch, a helicopter carrying speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga descended and landed right in the center of the pitch.
The players, were preparing for the anthems, had to vacate and watch the helicopter land from the sidelines.
Kadaga disembarked and was welcomed by Uganda Rugby Union chairman Andrew Owor and Bernard Atiku.
Meanwhile, all this was happening way past 2:30pm, the kickoff time.
The speaker was then taken to her seat from where she was to later come and inspect the two teams before kickoff.
This was after the helicopter had made way. The game kicked off about 20 minutes later than scheduled.
Namibia defeated the Cranes 48-24 to win their fourth straight game of the campaign and stay top of the table with maximum points collected from each game.
