Uganda Cranes creative midfielder Yassar Mugerwa has agreed terms with another Ethiopia Premier League side, Welayta Dicha Football Club.

“Yes. I have agreed personal terms with Welayta Dicha and I am now waiting for St George to confirm the move since I am still contracted with them for another one year,” Mugerwa disclosed to Kawowo Sports on Sunday.

The development implies that Mugerwa, 24, will leave the reigning Ethiopia Premier champions St. George F.C on  a loan agreement.

Despite winning the league with St George, Mugerwa was bold enough to tell his bosses he needed to play elsewhere to get as much playing time as possible.

Out of the 30 league matches, he featured in 23 games. On the continent (CAF Champions League preliminary and group stages), he had less playing time.

Welayta Dicha F.C is based in Sodo, South of the capital city, Addis Ababa. The club derives its name from the Wolaita, the dominant ethnic group in the area.

This will be Mugerwa’s third club outside Uganda having played at Orlando Pirates in South Africa and lately St George.

In his native country, Mugerwa who was born in Natete played prominently for Super Cubs, Nkumba University, Gomba Ssaza before switching to URA Football Club.
