Benon Lukyamuzi scored the winning goal as Weatherhead [M] edged bottom side Rockets in the National Hockey League.

Player-coach Vincent Kasasa gave Weatherhead an early lead with his strike in the 3rd minute to end the first half 1-0, but Rockets leveled through Shafiq Muleme in the 42nd minute in a tightly contested affair.

Lukyamuzi, however, stole the three points with his first goal of the campaign as Weatherhead secured their third victory of the season.

Kasasa’s boys ended the first round placed second in the table standings with 9 points collected from four games.

The yellow boys trail table toppers Kampala Hockey Club Stallions who they lost to on the opening day of the campaign by three points.

Rockets remain rooted to the bottom of the table with no points.

The league returns on 29 July with second round fixtures. Weatherhead shall take on third placed Wananchi in the opening game of the round
