
As the different clubs continue to prepare for the new season, Soana Football Club plans a country side tour in Western Uganda.
The director of the club, Smart Obed confirmed the development to Kawowo Sports.
We expect to have a tour in Fort Portal in August as we prepare for the new season. We shall also play against a select team from that side at the Buhinga Stadium
The club is on a quest to confirm the coach in the next few days after the departure of Alex Isabirye who left for Masavu Football Club.
Soana, like many clubs has been actively involved in the transfer window shipping in tried and tested midfielder Owen Kasule.
Former Lweza captain, Swaibu Mudde, Mike Kawooya (Jinja S.S), Faruku Kawooya (Express), Dalawusi Kiwalabye (free agent), Muwadda Mawejje (rejoined the club) and former Kirinya Jinja S.S goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa have already inked deals at the club.
Training for the club will commence at the start of August.
Last season, Soana finished 7th on the 16 team log during the turbulent times when they used three different coaches – Sam Ssimbwa, Lutalo Bbosa and Alex Isabirye.

Former coach Charles Ayiekho had quit the club earlier after disagreements with Obed on the players to be recruited.
Soana has also confirmed the release of 6 players. Striker Frank Kalanda, veteran winger Dan Wagaluka, Patrick ‘Crespo’ Asiku, Ahmed ‘Ndiefi’ Ssebagala, Nasir Mbabali (loan from Vipers ended) and goalkeeper Muhammed Didi.
The club is reportedly in talks with two to three more players, most notably, holding midfielder Emmanuel Olinga and striker cum winger Kenneth Tumusiime.
The new coach will be named this week.
