Dharam Pandya will be going all out as when he contests in the Tanzania Rally, the fifth round of the 2017 Africa Rally Championship due August 4-6.
Despite the tight fight expected for the top spot, Pandya is ready to assert his credentials as Tanzania’s best.
“Winning the event will be my target. It’s a tough challenge, yes I agree especially when I am just learning the new car and being a left hand drive.
“But I shall strive to win and I hope for the best,” he asserted.
Pandya’s best position ever in this event was second overall in 2012.
The two-time Tanzania Rally Champion will also count on his newly acquired Subaru GVB to aid his ambition.
“Moving to the new car has been a bit challenging just like any other transition can be. From right to a left hand drive.
“But I must say that the car is really good and moving. I believe it will help me a lot in this event if everything goes as planned.”
The PUMA Energy and Toyota Tanzania sponsored driver is not only targeting victory but also widening his chances for a third national title.
Pandya and co-driver Awadh Bafadhil are currently second in the standings; eight points behind leader Gerard Miller.
“I know winning or even finishing in top position will give me maximum points on the national championship chase which works to our advantage,” he said.
Pandya and Bafadhil will as well engage in the ARC contention along with current ARC leader Manvir Baryan, Jaspreet Chatthe, Leroy Gomes, Christakis Fitidis among others.
“I would like to apreciate my Family and especially my Father who is behind everything to ensure I succeed.”
