“I had no reason to resign but I have a million and one reasons for termination of contract” were the key words that Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic stressed as he bid farewell to Uganda since 21st May 2013 when he signed the contract with FUFA.

The future for Serbian as Uganda Cranes head coach is no more.

Sredojevic confirmed the termination of the employment contract on Saturday, 29th July 2017 during a fully packed press conference held at Pine Hotel, Kabira Country Club in Kampala.

Clad in an all blue jeans attire with a brown pair of shoes and the trade mark brief case, Micho addressed the media personnel for close to two hours.

It is 50 months today since I was signed to work for Uganda Cranes. I have unreserved love for Uganda.

Unfortunately, the contract was terminated on Friday, 28th July 2017 at 8 p.m after disrespect of my values

Privileged to work in Uganda

Micho openly hinted on the golden opportunity in the process of his execution for the work tasks in Uganda.

As always, I felt privileged to work in front of you.

I was always wishing to deliver something. That of making millions of Ugandans happy.

I did everything under full accountability, transparency and confidence. A million apologies to Ugandans

Remorseful

Throughout the press conference, Micho expressed elements of bitterness about the decision taken.

I would have loved to take the team to the World Cup in Russia.

This is not possible unfortunately. I have stretchered human and practical limits with FUFA. I have my values which needed to be respected. I had never even missed any training session with Uganda Cranes”

Appreciation

The former FC Palic midfielder showered special praise to the current and previous FUFA regimes, players, fans and sponsors.

He appreciated the technical team members worked with, all the national team captains.

I thank all the captains I have worked with. Andy Mwesigwa, Geofrey Massa,Dennis Onyango, Tonny Mawejje and many others

All Uganda Cranes players I have worked with have a presidential suite in my heart

Next destiny

Hinting on 8 concrete offers, with Uganda the 9th, Micho, at the moment can not reveal his next destiny although all links indicate a possible move to Orlando Pirates.

I have had 8 offers, Uganda is the 9th. At the moment, I will not consider national team offers.

I will now seek for rehabilitation. Just like some one break ups with some woman whom you have been in love with, I will seek rehabilitation first.

Uganda still has a VVIP apartment in my heart. You are still a DNA in my body I am happy to leave as the minister in charge of happiness for many Ugandans.

Life goes on. I want to thank God and my Namungoona church

Big moments

Micho will leave to remember the days when Uganda Cranes qualified for the AFCON after 38 years and then, when Uganda played the match against Ghana at AFCON 2019 tournament.

“I will remember 2 dates 4th September 2016 and 17th January 2017. Special dates for Uganda Cranes and Uganda as a nation,” Micho added.

He declined to comment on issues concerning his ‘pending arrears’ citing contractual clauses.

“I will not speak about politics or finances. Those other issues have be to discussed with my agent (Ivica Stankovic)” Micho added.

FUFA has acknowledged receipt of Micho’s letter concerning the termination of contract.
