Uganda’s Christakis Fitidis expects to carry his current form to Tanzania this weekend.
Fitidis and his co-driver Eric Nzamwita finished second in the Uganda round of the championship. He has his sights set well for the Tanzania leg.
“Tanzania rally is one event that I really appreciate, its quite fast and the roads are nice.
“But just like in Pearl rally, we shall go with our target of top five finish and see how we manage it through out the event,” says Fitidis.
He however admits he will face a more challenging race.
“This time round the competition will be so tight.
“I don’t expect Chatthe to have issues like in Pearl rally, plus Muna Singh, the local drivers and others will make the competition tighter.
“But we shall remain hopeful since anything can happen any time,” he added.
Fitidis and Nzamwita are currently seventh on the ARC standings with 18 points after four rounds.
It is going to be the third time he is participating in Tanzania rally. His best finish has been third overall in 2011.
Meanwhile, he will be joined by Yasin Nasser who is on ARC and Adam Rauf to represent team Uganda.
